Synopsis: A recent National workshop assessing the scope to improve animal welfare aspects of pest animal control identified chloropicrin fumigation of rabbit warrens to be an unacceptable control technique. This project aims to develop a humane alternative fumigant which will allow landholders to effectively manage rabbits in situations where warren ripping is not viable.
