The 10-Unit Skills-Set in the Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Diploma course covers:

  • Principles that underpin best practice pest management
  • The strategic approach to managing pests
  • How to engage and work with your community
  • Effective monitoring and evaluation
  • Project management
  • Identifying and obtaining financial and other necessary resources
  • Promoting group formation and development
  • Collection and management of data
  • Preparing reports
  • Negotiating a contract

  • Flexible on-line delivery so you can undertake it at your workplace (over 30 weeks, supported by 3 workshops).
  • Based on the principles and approach of the Australian Pest Animal Strategy.
  • Uses case studies from successfully operating programs to explain strategic management of pests.

The course has been developed in consultation with state government pest agencies and aims to provide field officers with the skills needed to develop and implement strategic vertebrate pest management plans. On successful completion of the course you will receive the Diploma of Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation Land Management (RTD50102).
