The VPC’s Official Observers include the IA CRC, CSIRO, BRS, PIRSA and OCVO.

Chairmanship is rotated between the states on a three yearly basis. The host state’s representative on the Natural Resources Planning and Policies Committee chairs the committee and Pestat Pty Ltd. provides the secretariat for the Committee.

Since July 2009, the Chair of the VPC has been provided by Victoria. Currently, Dr Hugh Millar holds the position of Chair.
